This weeks recipes (the Tomato and Olive Tart and the Cheesy Crackers) both call for Herbes de Provence (Provencal Herbs) so we thought we would let you know what they were. It is dried spice blend generally made with rosemary, marjoram, basil, bay leaf, thyme, and lavender. Found in the spice section of most grocers. This distinctly Mediterranean flavor is a delicious twist in Chicken Salad, dips, and salad dressings. Try substituting when a recipe calls for thyme or rosemary!
